Carpenter electrocuted in Kishoreganj

KISHOREGANJ, March 4, 2026 (BSS) - A carpenter died after being electrocuted while working in Pakundia upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was Sultan Mia, 40, son of Renu Mia of Mahishkanda village under Patuabhanga union of the upazila.

The incident took place around 11:30 am at Bhitpara village. According to family sources, Sultan Mia was making furniture at the house of a local resident when he received an electric shock while operating a drill machine

Locals took him to Pakundia Upazila Health Complex in critical condition. However, the attending physician declared him dead upon arrival.

Officer-in-Charge of Pakundia Police Station SM Arifur Rahman confirmed the incident.
