Rajshahi main Eid Jamaat at 8 am

RAJSHAHI, Mar 19, 2026 (BSS) - The main jamaat (congregation) of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr in Rajshahi will be held at 8:00 am at the Hazrat Shah Makhdum Ruposh (R.) Central Eidgah ground.

In case of inclement weather, the congregation will take place at the Hazrat Shah Makhdum Ruposh (R.) Dargah Mosque at the same time.

The decision was taken at a preparatory meeting of the district administration held on March 11, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Sabur Ali confirmed.

According to district administration sources, all necessary preparations have been taken to ensure smooth holding of the main Eid congregation.

On the day, Minister of Land Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP, Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, and Divisional Commissioner Dr. ANM Bazlur Rashid are expected to exchange Eid greetings with worshippers before the prayers.

Meanwhile, Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) have been instructed to make necessary arrangements for Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations at the upazila level.

Eid congregations at other Eidgahs across the city will be held between 7:30 am and 8:30 am.

Earlier, Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton inspected preparations at the Central Eidgah on Tuesday afternoon. He also visited Tikapara Eidgah and the city corporation's asphalt plant.

During the inspection, Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Karim, Superintending Engineer Ahmad Al Moeen, and Executive Engineers Subrata Kumar Sarkar, Nilufa Yasmin and Asaduzzaman Sweet, among others, were present.
