
RAJSHAHI, April 2, 2026 (BSS) - Administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has given him the opportunity to work for the residents of Rajshahi metropolitan city.
He expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister in the meeting.
He noted that the Prime Minister has given importance to Rajshahi and said, "Rajshahi is beautiful; it must be developed to become even more beautiful."
He added, "I want to do something for the people of Rajshahi. Following government directives and laws, and with everyone's sincere efforts and cooperation, I want to reshape Rajshahi metropolitan city anew."
He made these remarks as the chief guest at an exchange meeting organized by the Engineering Department of RCC on Thursday at the City Hall auditorium of the City Building, regarding ongoing development activities.
At the meeting, the RCC Administrator said that Rajshahi City Corporation is an institution dedicated to citizen services and is accountable to the people.
He emphasized that everyone must work properly to ensure the provision of citizen services. Duties must be carried out with integrity, and greater recognition must be earned through quality work.
He further stated that to enhance civic facilities, roads and drainage systems will be constructed in all 30 wards of the city. The work schemes planned for the next 90 days must be completed within the timeframe.
During the meeting, the Administrator also provided various directives, including maintaining quality standards, completing unfinished work promptly, and accelerating ongoing development activities.
The meeting was chaired by the Chief Executive Officer of RCC, Rezaul Karim. Detailed information on the City Corporation's ongoing development projects was presented by Acting Superintending Engineer Ahmad Al Moein Parag.
Among others present were RCC Secretary Sohel Rana, Superintending Engineer Khairul Baker and Executive Engineers Mahmudur Rahman Imon, Nilufar Yasmin and Asaduzzaman, along with assistant engineers, sub-assistant engineers, work assistants, and other concerned officials.
