Judo gold winner Bushra honoured in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, April 2, 2026 (BSS) - The district administration and District Sports Organisation today felicitated international judo player Fabia Bushra for winning a gold medal in a competition held in Nepal.

She was honoured with a crest and a financial award at a ceremony held at Bagerhat Stadium, where a month-long training programme in football, swimming and athletics was also inaugurated.

Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner Golam Md. Baten and Superintendent of Police Md Hasan Chowdhury handed over the awards.

Speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner said Bushra's achievement has brought honour to the country and expressed hope that more girls would be inspired to take part in national and international competitions. 

The district administration and the district sports organization will provide all kinds of support in this regard, he assured. 

Officials of the district administration, sports organisers, coaches and trainees were present.
