JHENAIDAH, April 11, 2026 (BSS) - The re-digging ceremony of two canals in 
Harinakundu of Jhenaidah district was inaugurated at the Joradah Union 
Parishad premises here today.

Re-excavation of canals in Jhenaidah is a part of a broader government's 
effort to improve irrigation, water management, and agricultural productivity 
in the region.
 
Jhenaidah District Council Administrator Advocate MA Majid opened the 
programme as the chief guest at 10 am, according to a press release this 
afternoon.

The re-digging of the Canal of Joradah Union of Harinakundu Upazila and the 
Kesmat Ghoragachha Canal of Kapashatia Union were inaugurated.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Didarul Alam presided over the programme.

Among others, Upazila BNP President Abul Hossain Master, its General 
Secretary Taizal Hossain, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Azizur 
Rahman were present on the occasion.

Leaders and activists of BNP and its other associate bodies, along with 
representatives of various classes and professions were present there.

Meanwhile speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Advocate MA Majid said 
Bangladesh is moving forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique 
Rahman.

The incumbent government is determined to implement the electoral pledges, he 
added.

Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is implementing his electoral 
pledges by introducing small agricultural loan waiver, farmer card and family 
card.
