Businessman fined for hoarding fuel oil in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, April 11, 2026 (BSS)- A mobile court fined Taka 40,000 to the 
owner of a business establishment in Karnaphuli upazila for illegally 
hoarding and selling fuel oil at a higher price. 

The raid was conducted at Sayed Automobile Fuel Oil shop in the Moizzjartek 
area next to the upazila highway at around 11 pm on Friday.

The owner was found to have stored 1,750 liters of fuel oil illegally and 
later the oil was sold at a nearby petrol pump at the government-set price. 

Executive Magistrate Md. Al Amin Hossain stated that the raid was carried out 
based on secret information, and it was confirmed that hoarding and selling 
oil at a higher price was taking place.
 
The company has been fined Taka 40,000 for this offense. Similar operations 
will be ongoing in the interest of the public, he added.

Members of the Army, RAB, and Karnaphuli Police Station were also present 
during the operation.
