BAGERHAT, April 11, 2026 (BSS) - A public awareness documentary on the farmer card initiative and measles prevention was screened at Sriphaltala Bazar in Rampal upazila here this afternoon.

The programme was organized by the District Information Office as part of efforts to implement the government's election manifesto and raise awareness among the public.

District Information Officer Muinul Haque addressed the gathering, highlighting various government initiatives for farmers' welfare.

He said the farmer card programme would be formally inaugurated in 10 upazilas across the country on April 14, marking the Bengali New Year, under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

He noted that the farmer card will enable farmers to access government services more easily, including input subsidies and soft loans.

The screening also informed attendees about measles, focusing on its symptoms, prevention and the importance of vaccination.

Local dignitaries and residents attended the programme.
