Man killed in Narsingdi train accident

NARSINGDI, April 15, 2026 (BSS) - A 30-year-old man was killed after being struck by a train in Narsingdi this noon.

The accident occurred in the Arshinagar area of Sadar upazila when Dhaka-bound Subarna Express ran over him.

The deceased was identified as Asadullah, son of Monir Mia of Bashgari village in Raipura upazila. He had been living in a rented house in the Sangeeta area of Narsingdi town.

According to railway police and locals, the Subarna Express, which left Chattogram, was passing through Narsingdi around noon when the victim, reportedly walking carelessly along the railway tracks, was hit by the train and died on the spot.

Railway police later recovered the body and took it to the Narsingdi Railway Police outpost.

Sub-Inspector Dilip Chandra Sarkar, in-charge of the outpost, said the identity of the victim has been confirmed and his family members have been informed. Further legal procedures will be carried out after their arrival.
