78,432 children to get measles-rubella vaccine in Khagrachhari

KHAGRACHHARI, April 19, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 79,432 children under-five years will receive measles-rubella (MR) vaccines under an 11-day special immunization campaign of the government.

The immunization drive will run from April 20 to May 10.

The information was revealed today by Deputy Civil Surgeon of the district Dr. Ratan Khisa at a press conference held at the Civil Surgeon’s office here.

The campaign will be conducted across 1,519 centers in all nine upazilas of the district. These include 574 educational institutions, 945 community centers, nine upazila health complexes and one municipal vaccination center.

Children aged between six months and under-five years will be eligible for vaccination. Although online registration is encouraged, authorities said children without prior registration will also be vaccinated.

Officials of the health department urged the parents and guardians to ensure that their children receive the vaccine during the campaign period.
