RAJSHAHI, April 22, 2026 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) recovered a foreign one-shooter gun and ammunition during a special raid in Charghat upazila of Rajshahi.

However, no one could be identified or arrested in connection with the incident.

Based on secret information, a team from RAB-5's Rajshahi headquarters company conducted the operation around 11 pm on Tuesday in Raotha village, along the Padma River.

In a press release on Wednesday, RAB said the weapon was found abandoned during a search of the bushes.

Although locals in the area were questioned during the operation, they could not provide any information about the recovered gun and ammunition.

RAB suspects that terrorists were bringing the weapon from a neighboring country with the intent to destabilize the country. But sensing RAB's presence, they fled, leaving the weapon behind.

The recovered weapon and ammunition have been handed over to the Charghat Police Station.
