Fines imposed, hydraulic horns seized in anti-noise campaign in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, April 22, 2026 (BSS) - A surprise mobile court conducted drives in Mazar More area of Bagerhat district on Tuesday afternoon.

Under the 'Integrated and Participatory Project for Noise Pollution Control' being implemented by the Department of Environment those drives were conducted.

During the anti-noise campaign drives , a total of Tk 2,000 was fined to 4 vehicles for violating Section 6(2) of the 'Noise Pollution Control Rules, 2025' for creating noise exceeding the standard level and the fine was collected. At the same time, 7 hydraulic horns were seized and destroyed. 

At this time, transport drivers were warned to refrain from using hydraulic horns in future. 

The mobile court was conducted by Executive Magistrate of the District Administration Mubashera Siddika and Md. Latifur Rahman. Assistant Director of the Department of Environment Delwar Hossain provided the prosecution. 

 A team of District Police, Bagerhat provided security during the drives.
