Meeting on boro paddy & rice procurement held in Narail

NARAIL, May 13, 2026 (BSS)- A meeting of the district paddy and rice procurement committee was held here today to monitor the procurement situation.

The meeting took place at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room with DC Dr. Mohammad Abdul Salam in the chair.

Senior government officials, District and Upazila food controllers, official of agricultural extension department and leaders of rice mill owners association were present.

Meeting sources said, a total of 5,284 metric tonnes of paddy, 5,012 metric tonnes of parboiled rice, 200 metric tonnes of Atap rice and 340 metric tonnes of wheat will be procured from three upazilas of the district this season. 

The procurement drive is scheduled to continue until August 31, 2026 at government fixed prices.

The government has set Taka 36 per kg for paddy, Taka 49 per kg for parboiled rice, Taka 48 per kg for Atap rice and Taka 36 per kg for wheat.

DC warned that no irregularities would be accepted in the procurement process and urged officials to remain vigilant so that genuine farmers are benefit.
