RAB arrests man with 188 bottles of contraband syrup in Thakurgaon

RANGPUR, July 3, 2026 (BSS) - Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested a man along with 188 bottles of contraband cough syrup during an anti-drug drive in Thakurgaon's Pirganj upazila on Thursday.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from RAB-13's Dinajpur Camp raided a house in Matiani village under Pirganj Police Station around 7:50 am, according to a RAB press release.

During the drive, the team seized 117 bottles of Eskuf, 59 bottles of MKDyl and 12 bottles of Phensedyl syrup and arrested the suspect.

The arrestee was Md Azibur Rahman, 35, a resident of Matiani village under Pirganj Police Station in Thakurgaon district.

A case was filed in connection with the incident and the arrested man, along with the seized contraband, was handed over to Pirganj Police Station for further legal action, the release added.
