RAB arrests 13 inter-district gamblers with equipment in Rangpur

RANGPUR, July 3, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action battalion (RAB)-13 arrested 13 active members of inter-district gambling gang with gambling equipment from 
Satmatha Nagar Matrisadan under Metropolitan Kotwali Police Station in the city today (Friday). 
 
On a tip off, a smart team of the RAB-13's Rangpur Sadar Company conducted a raid in the Satmatha Nagar Matrisadan area, arrested them and seized huge 
gambling equipment and other goods from the spot at 3am, a press release said here tonight.

The arrestees are Md Ershad Hossain, 35, Md Rafiqul Islam, 29, Md Sagar, 21, Md Shahiduzzaman, 40, and Md Sajjad Hossain, 18, of different areas in 
Rangpur, Md Abdul Khalek, 42, Md Nabab Ali, 42, Md Ripon, 38, and Krishna Kanta Roy, 37, and Abinash Chandra, 40 of Dinajpur, Md Abdul Jalil, 28, Md 
Dishad Hossain, 26, and Md Al Amin, 30, of Nilphamari districts. 
 
During the operation, cash worth Taka 1,56,850 and playing cards used in gambling, a triple sheet hung at the gambling venue, an old plastic bag used 
for seating, seven smartphones of different brands (REALME-2, SAMSUNG-1, VIVO-1, OPPO-1, SYMPHONY-1 and TECNO-1) were seized.
 
Initial investigation revealed that the arrested persons are active members of an inter-district gambling ring. 
 
They had been conducting gambling activities openly and online for a long time. 
 
Further investigation is underway regarding other members of the ring and financial transactions after analyzing various information and data. 
 
"The arrested people have been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action," the release said.
