Man jailed for yaba use in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, July 3, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court in Monohardi upazila today sentenced a man to one month's imprisonment for consuming yaba and creating public disorder.

The convict, Md. Murshid Mia, 40, son of Abdus Sattar of Dharabanda village under Lebutala Union, was arrested during a drive in the Drenerghat area. He was convicted under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018, as amended in 2023.

The court also seized two yaba tablets and drug-consuming paraphernalia from his possession.

Monohardi upazila Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Sajib Mia conducted the drive.
