Man held with country-made weapon in Dinajpur

RANGPUR, Sept 6, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested a man with a country-made axe-like weapon during a drive in Dinajpur district today.

On information, a joint team from RAB-13's Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-1, based at the Dinajpur Camp, raided a house in Khiyar Mamudpur village under Birampur Police Station at around 4:50 pm and arrested the man. The team also seized the illegal weapon from his possession.

The arrested man was identified as Md Hasinur Sarkar, 38, son of Md Kazem Uddin Sarkar of the same village, according to a press release signed by RAB-13 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Biplab Kumar Goswami.

RAB alleged that Hasinur had been involved in armed criminal activities in different parts of the country, including Dhaka, for a long time.

A case was filed against him. He was later handed over to Birampur Police Station along with the seized weapon for further legal action.
