RANGPUR, Sept 7, 2026 (BSS) - The construction work of the residential building of pro vice-chancellor, treasurer and registrar and guest house has been inaugurated on Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) campus in the city.
 
Vice-chancellor of the university Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali University inaugurated the construction work of the building at a simple ceremony held at the construction site this afternoon.
 
Addressing the occasion, the Vice-chancellor said that once the construction of this building is completed, accommodation will be ensured for the top officials and administrative representatives of the university.
 
“At the same time, it will be easy to provide advanced and timely guest house facilities for the esteemed guests coming from far and wide,” he said.
 
He said that instructions have been given to the concerned engineers and contracting companies to ensure maximum transparency, accountability and quality in the construction work.
 
“One of our main goals is to ensure the necessary infrastructural development to build a modern and world-class university,” the Vice-chancellor said.
 
Later, a special prayer was held to pray for the overall progress and development of the university and the welfare of teachers and students.
 
BRUR Proctor and Registrar (Acting) Professor Dr Md Ferdous Rahman, Director (Additional Duty) of Public Relations, Information and Publication Division Md Masud Rana, Librarian of Central Library and Information Center Dr Md Moniruzzaman, officials, employees, engineers and representatives of contracting organizations attended the event.
