DHAKA, May 28, 2025 (BSS) – BanglaFact, fact-checking and media research team of Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB), has identified the claim of facilitating special quota to the July fighters and their families in the Dhaka University admission tests as wrong and intentional.

According to the query of the BanglaFact, the DU authority, in a recent Deans Committee meeting, has made decisions to assist the July-fighters and their family members by providing them with economic assistance if they fulfill and qualify all the criteria of DU admission tests.

Earlier, a DU press release noted that enlisted July-fighters and their families will specially be facilitated in the undergraduate admission tests of 2024-25 academic session and wife, son or daughters will have the priority among the family members of the July fighters.

A group of Awami leaning activists purposefully spreading rumors misinterpreting this version and labeling the facility as quota for the July-fighters and their families, as the BanglaFact said.

Citing the DU’s vice chancellor BanglaFact noted that the July martyrs, fighters and their families may receive economic assistance only during 2024-25 academic session. Deans’ committee and syndicate will decide this.
