DHAKA, July 19, 2025 (BSS) - Fact-checking platform BanglaFact, operated by the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB), has identified a photo card claiming that child Jabir Ibrahim was killed in a clash and firing incident in Gopalganj on July 16, 2025, who was actually killed in police firing on August 5, 2024.
 
In a statement, BanglaFact mentioned that an attempt is being made to spread confusion by circulating a photo card claiming Jabir was killed in a clash and firing incident in Gopalganj on July 16, 2025.
 
BanglaFact identified that 'Child Jabir was not killed in police firing in Gopalganj on July 16.
 
In fact, the child was shot dead by police in Uttara in the capital on August 5, 2024, it added.
 
BanglaFact said a similar image found that was used in the report published on December 31, 2024 on the website of media, The Daily Campus.

As per the report, on August 5, 2024, on the day of Sheikh Hasina's fall, the couple Kabir Hossain and Rokeya Begum went to Uttara to join the victory celebrations with their three children, Zubayna Kabir Neha, Zubayer Mahtab Abdullah and Jabir Ibrahim. 
 
At that time, Jabir Ibrahim was martyred in police firing, BanglaFact added.
