DHAKA, July 22, 2025 (BSS) - Fact-checking platform, BanglaFact, operated by the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB), has identified a misleading video claiming that it is the footage of pilot surviving from yesterday's (Monday) aircraft crash in Uttara which is actually the footage of training aircraft crashing into the Karnaphuli River in Chattogram on May 9, 2024

In a statement, BanglaFact mentioned that Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashed into a building on the Milestone School and College campus in the capital's Uttara area on Monday.

A video claiming to show the pilot returning alive from the crash has become viral on social media.

However, BanglaFact investigation team indentified that it is footage of a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashing into the Karnaphuli River in Chattogram on May 9, 2024.

The video being circulated is misleading, they added.
