DHAKA, Aug 7, 2025 (BSS) - Fact-checking platform BanglaFact, operated by the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB), has identified a picture of a passenger list on social media claiming that former US ambassador Peter Haas left Bangladesh on August 5, which is actually fake information.

BanglaFact's investigation found that the picture on passenger list of ‘Dolanchapa VIP 2’ lounge at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport circulating in social media is fake, and the information published in it is not true.

The investigation team showed that the name of the organization in the list spread on social media is mentioned as ‘Bangladesh Private Aviation Authority’. 

However, the team has not found any organization with this name in Bangladesh and in fact, the real name of this organization is ‘Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA)’.
