DHAKA, Sept 04, 2025 (BSS) - Fact-checking platform BanglaFact, operated by the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB), has identified a video circulating on social media claiming sporadic gunfire and grenade attacks in the Dhaka University (DU) which is actually a video of an Indonesian incident.

BanglaFact's investigation found that the video circulating on social media is not from the Dhaka University area, but from Indonesia.

The team also mentioned that a motorcycle ride-sharing driver was killed after being hit by a police car during a protest in Indonesia over various issues, including the increase in the cost of living.

Protests spread widely after this incident, they added.

They also mentioned that there have similarities between the circulating video and the Indonesian incident video.
