CHATTOGRAM, Jan 20, 2025 (BSS)- The Durbar Rajshahi team management announced
Taskin Ahmed as the captain of the side for the remaining matches of the
Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) today.

The lanky fast bowler replaced Anamul Haque as the skipper.

"Experienced pacer Taskin is our new captain for the remaining matches in the
ongoing BPL," Rajshahi stated in a press release.
 
Under Bijoy's captaincy Rajshahi won three matches in eight games and is
currently at the fifth position in the points table.

Bijoy has been in top form in the tournament, already making 324 runs in
eight matches that put him in the second spot in batting chart behind Tanzid
Hasan Tamim's 330.

He struck a century in the last match but still couldn't resist the side's
seven-run defeat to Khulna Tigers.

Rajshahi needed 17 runs in the last over to chase down Khulna's mammoth 209-4
with Bijoy in the strike but he couldn't amass the required runs to win the
game for the side. Instead he completed his century by taking a single in the
last ball when his side's defeat was confirmed.

"Captaincy burden was taken off from him (Bijoy) so that he can concentrate
more on his batting," the Rajshahi press release added.
 
Taskin, meanwhile, also is in top of the form by claiming tournament highest
18 wickets in eight matches, so far.
