Primary School Gold Cup Football tournament begins at Municipal Stadium in Jhalokathi on Tuesday.

JHALOKATHI, Jan 21, 2025 (BSS)- The Primary School Gold Cup Football

tournament held at Municipal Stadium in Jhalokathi on Tuesday.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the district Ashrafur Rahman inaugurated the
daylong meet as the chief guest.

In the boys' group opening match, Kathalia upazila team beat Sadar upazila
team by 4-3 goals in penalty shoot-out while Rajapur upazila team defeated
Nalchiti by 3-2 goals in another tiebreaker match in girls' group.

Apart from education, the competition was organised under the Festival of
Youth 2025 in an effort to develop children as good citizens through their
physical and mental development.
 
A total of eight boys' and girls' teams from four upazilas of the district
are participating in the meet.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Ujjal Roy and Additional Deputy Commissioner
Shakila Rahman were also, among others, spoke in the opening ceremony,
presided by District Primary Education Officer ABM Asadul Alam.
