National school cricket begins in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, Jan 24, 2025 (BSS)- Prime Bank National School Cricket tournament, on occasion of Festival of Youth, has begun at Nilphamari high school municipal ground on Friday.

Nilphamari deputy commissioner Mohammad Nayruzzaman inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.

Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, deputy commissioner Mohammad Nairuzzaman said sports is not only a means of entertainment, it helps our young generation in physical and mental development. Students would get an opportunity to showcase their talent and skills through this tournament. 

He also hoped that such type of tournament would continue in the future.

Nilphamari government high school and Nilphamari collectorate public school and college participated in the inaugural match.

Prime Bank Syedpur branch manager Md Harisul Islam, district sports officer Abul Hashem and convener of the tournament management committee Shefaul Jahangir Alam Shepu were present and spoke as special guests on the occasion, presided by additional deputy commissioner (general) Jyoti Bikas Chandra.
