BAGERHAT, Jan 27, 2025 (BSS)- With the aim of building a new Bangladesh, the National Gold Cup football tournament (U-17 boys' and girls') began today at Bagerhat stadium on the occasion of Festival of Youth.
Bagerhat deputy commissioner Ahmed Kamrul Hasan inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.
Convener of anti-discrimination movement SM Saddam, president of Jamaat-e-Islami youth division Manjurul Haque Rahad, Khulna divisional physical education college principal Rubel Khan, additional deputy commissioner Nezarat Tariq Rahman, district sports officer Hussain Ahmed and other district level officials also spoke in the opening ceremony.
Deputy commissioner Ahmed Kamrul Hasan said eighteen players, whose performance would be good through this game, would be able to participate in special training in Brazil and Portugal.
He also said to the players not to miss this golden opportunity.
