BAF celebrates Festival of Youth in Chuadanga

DHAKA, Jan 27, 2025 (BSS)- With the aim of building a new Bangladesh, Bangladesh Archery Federation (BAF) has been conducting various activities across the country on occasion of Festival of Youth under the slogan of “Let's Change the country, change the world”.

As part of the continuation after Nilphamari, Faridpur, Gazipur and Natore, the BAF celebrated the Festival of Youth holding various day-long activities in Chuadanga on Monday.

Apart from the archery competition, the day-long program also included colorful rally and the ‘pitha festival’.

The rally started at deputy commissioner’s office premises and ended at Chandmari playground after parading through different streets in the city.  

After the rally, Chuadanga deputy commissioner Md Zahirul Islam formally inaugurated the archery competition and winter ‘pitha festival’ as the chief guest. 

Superintendent Md Khondakar Golam Moula, BAF general secretary Kazi Rajin Uddin Ahmed Chapala, Chuadanga additional deputy commissioner Md Mizanur Rahman were present. 

Archers are participating in the archery competition of the youth festival with enthusiasm.

A total of 54 archers including boys’ and girls’ participated in the competition. Shakib won gold in boys’ singles and Shihab and Shah Rukh secured silver and bronze respectively in the boys’ singles event.

In the girls’ singles event, Tisha won gold and Mau bagged silver while Monica collected bronze in third position with three goals.

The rest of the festival will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) in Narail, January 31 in Rajshahi, February 2 in Chattogram and the finale on February 8 at the historic Paltan Maidan in Dhaka.
