SIRAJGANJ, Jan 30, 2025 (BSS)- Belkuchi Government Degree College emerged as champions in the Inter-College Gold Cup Football tournament beating Afzal Hossain Memorial Degree College of Kazipur upazila by 4-0 goals in the final held at Shaheed Shamsuddin Stadium in Sirajganj on Thursday.

Deputy commissioner Muhammad Nazrul Islam distributed medals and champion and runner-up trophies among the players, coaches, managers.

Additional superintendent of police Md. Shamsul Alam was present as the special guest in the prize distribution ceremony, presided over by additional deputy commissioner (revenue) and tournament committee convener Ganapati Roy.

Belkuchi Government College principal professor Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Afzal Hossain Memorial Degree College Principal Md. Mohsin Reza, district sports officer Md. Nure Elahi, Sirajganj Press Club president and former general secretary of district sports association Md. Harun Or Rashid Khan Hasan, district BNP sports affairs secretary and former professional football player Hedayetul Islam, sports organizers Abdullah and Alamin Sheikh, among others, were present in the prize distribution ceremony.

Eight colleges participated in the knock-out basis tournament, organized by district administration and district sports office on the occasion of Festival of Youth.
