GAIBANDHA, FEB 02, 2025 (BSS) - A series of programs are being held in the upazila headquarters of the district under Youth festival-2025 to motivate the youths for making themselves self-dependent economically to build a happy prosperous new beautiful Bangladesh.

The slogan of the festival is "Let's Change the Country, Change the World."

Like other programs, a program on freelancers' summit was also held at the auditorium of Saghata Upazila Parishad of the district on Tuesday at the initiative ofthe upazila administration with UNO Isahaque Ali in the chair. 

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chowdhury Muazzam Ahmed attended the function and addressed it as the chief guest. 

Moderated by assistant commissioner (Land) Monoranjan Barman, the function was also addressed among others by convener of upazila BNP Mohammad Ali, senior joint convener Moin Prodhan Labu, Speaking on the occasion, DC Muazzam Ahmed said the government is committed to create freelancing environment for the youths to make them self-dependent through providing them with need base services. 

Terming the youths as the conductors of the country, the DC urged the youths to come forward with positive attitude to involve in freelancing to be self-reliant economically and to build discrimination and injustice free welfare state in the days of ahead. 

Earlier, the different issues including the efficiency of freelancers, the new challenge of the global marketplace, the impact of automation and digital payment system were discussed elaborately in the function. 

Almost all freelancers coming from different unions of the upazila and invited persons participated in the program.

Talking to the BSS, UNO Isahaque Ali said programs on youth festival began in the upazila on December 31, 2024 and it would continue till March 15.
