JHENAIDAH, Feb 22, 2025 (BSS)- Jhenaidah district administration and district sports association organized a Mini Marathon on the occasion of Festival of Youth-2025 in Jhenaidah on Saturday.
The seven-kilometre (7km) long marathon started from Jhenaidah central bus terminal in the morning and ended at Pyara Chatwar after passing through the designated roads of the town.
The organizers said that more than hundred participants took part in the marathon. Among the participants, athletes of various ages including children and adolescents participated.
After the marathon, Rathindra Nath Roy, deputy director of local government department, distributed the awards in a programme held at Payra Chattar. The first thirteen participants were given awards and certificates.
Besides, certificates and medals were given to all the participants who reached the finish line in the competition.
Meanwhile, a festive atmosphere prevailed in the district town since Saturday morning, centering the mini marathon. The town is bustling with Red Crescent Society, Rover Scouts and volunteers and visitors.
