Inter-department cricket tournament kicks off in BRUR

RANGPUR, May 15, 2025 (BSS) - The Inter-department cricket tournament-2025, organised by the Office of The Physical Education at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR), kicked off today.
 
Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali inaugurated the tournament by hoisting the national flag and releasing balloons at the university's playground No. 1 as the chief guest. 
 
As many as 22 male and 17 female teams from 22 departments under six faculties of the university are participating in the tournament. 
 
The Vice-chancellor said that the university's administration is committed to ensuring all necessary facilities available on the campus to develop students as good citizens with sound health and physical fitness. 
 
He called upon students to participate in the competition with a playful attitude to maintain cordial relations among them. 
 
Presided over by Director of the Office of The Physical Education Dr. Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Director of the Office of the Student Affairs Professor Dr. Md. Elias Pramanik addressed the ceremony as a special guest. 
 
Dean of the Faculty of Life and Earth Science Professor Dr Md Emdadul Haque, Registrar Dr Md Harun-or Rashid, Proctor Dr Md Ferdous Rahman and Assistant Professor of the Department of History and Archaeology Sohag Ali, also spoke. 
 
Teachers and students of different departments were present at the inaugural ceremony.
