Youth festival T20 cricket tourney inaugurated in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Oct 22, 2025 (BSS) - To celebrate the youth festival, the Rangpur T20 Cricket Tournament- 2025 was inaugurated at the Rangpur Collectorate Cricket Garden in the city this afternoon. 
 
Rangpur Deputy Commissioner and District Sports Association (DSA) Convener Mohammad Rabiul Faisal inaugurated the tournament by releasing balloons in a colourful ceremony as the chief guest. 
 
Rangpur Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Ramiz Alam presided over the program. 
 
The Rangpur district administration and DSA jointly organized this tournament. 
 
Addressing the occasion, the chief guest said that this tournament will not only usher in a new era in the sports arena of Rangpur region but will also play an important role in the development of sports across the country. 
 
“I seek everyone's sincere cooperation for the successful arrangement of the tournament marking the celebration of the youth festival,” he said. 
 
Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) of Rangpur District Police Md Joynal Abedin, Director of Bangladesh Cricket Board Md Hasanuzzaman, District Sports Officer Md Masud Rana, Founder and Managing Director of Steadfast Courier Service KM Redwanul Bari Zion, among others, were present at the inauguration ceremony. 
 
District Sports Officer Md Masud Rana told BSS that the first phase of the tournament will be divided into two groups of eight teams. Kingsman and Gazipur Cricket Academy participated in the inaugural match today.
