THAKURGAON, Nov 3, 2025 (BSS) - A vibrant pottery exhibition and a traditional pitha fair began in Thakurgaon, as part of the Youth Festival-2025.

The event, organized by the district administration with the theme "Come and change the country, change the world," drew a large crowd from all age groups eager to celebrate winter’s arrival in a culturally rich way.

Deputy Commissioner Ishrat Farzana on Monday afternoon inaugurated the event at the DC Tourism Park premises.

The festivities featured a wide array of local pottery and homemade pithas, providing a glimpse into Thakurgaon's cultural heritage.

Various stalls at the fair showcased traditional winter pithas, including Bhapa, Chitai, Patisapta, Malpoa, Nakshi, and Bibiana pithas, all handmade by small local entrepreneurs.

Visitors were seen enjoying these delicacies, with many eager to taste and purchase their favorites. The fair’s focus on local craft and traditional food allowed attendees to experience the richness of the region’s culinary and artistic traditions.

In addition to the pitha stalls, local potters displayed their creative works, adding a touch of clay art to the fair. The pottery exhibition featured beautifully crafted items, ranging from functional pots to decorative pieces, all demonstrating the skill and artistry of the local artisans.

Deputy Commissioner Ishrat Farzana emphasized the importance of such events for the younger generation.

"This fair is an opportunity for young people to connect with their cultural roots, be inspired by local art and tradition, and cultivate creativity. It’s important that our youth learn to value culture alongside technology. Through such events, they can better understand the heritage and history of our country."

The pottery exhibition and pitha fair in Thakurgaon proved to be a successful celebration of local culture, with participants and visitors leaving with fond memories of winter traditions.
