COPENHAGEN, Aug 27, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen
on Wednesday apologised to more than 4,500 Greenlandic victims of a forced
contraception campaign run by Denmark until 1992 aimed at reducing the Inuit
birth rate.

"We cannot change what has happened. But we can take responsibility.
Therefore, on behalf of Denmark, I would like to say: I am sorry,"
Frederiksen said in a statement.
