Doa mahfil held at BMU on 49th death anniversary of poet Nazrul

DHAKA, Aug 27, 2025 (BSS) - A doa mahfil was held after Zohr prayers at Central Jame Mosque of Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) today on the 49th death anniversary of the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.

Teachers, doctors, officials and employees of BMU joined the doa mahfil, said a press release. 

Imam and Khatib of BMU's Central Jame Mosque Hafiz Maulana Mufti Abdul Ahad conducted the doa mahfil.
Poet Kazi Nazrul passed away on the 12th Bhadra of Bengali year 1383 in Cabin 117 of Block B of the present Bangladesh Medical University (formerly PG Hospital). 

At present, this room is being preserved by the BMU administration as a mark of poet’s memory.
