SANGSAD BHABAN, June 23, 2026 (BSS) – State Minister for Food Md. Abdul Bari today said in Jatiya Sangsad that the government is firmly committed to maintaining stability in rice prices in the market and is conducting regular market monitoring to achieve this goal.

The state minister said this in Parliament while responding to a written question tabled by ruling party lawmaker Md. Fazle Huda from Naogaon-3 constituency.

He said action is being taken against illegal stockpilers and those attempting to destabilize the market.

Abdul Bari also informed the House that the government plans to distribute food-friendly rice through a digital system using the Food-Friendly Programme database to ensure the timely delivery of rice allocated for the ultra-poor.

He also expressed hope that the initiative would enhance transparency and efficiency in the distribution process.
