DHAKA, May 13, 2026 (BSS) - The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 today set June 4 for holding a hearing on charge framing in a case filed over the killing of six individuals, including Chhatra Dal leader Wasim Akram, during the July Mass Uprising in Chattogram.

The second tribunal passed the order as appointed state defence counsels to defend 18 fugitive accused, including former ministers Hasan Mahmud and Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury Nowfel.

The tribunal on April 7, 2026, issued arrest warrants against the fugitives.

The prosecution on April 5 submitted the formal charge against a total of 22 accused in the case. Of them, four, including former lawmaker ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury, have already been arrested and are now in jail.

The tribunal today passed the order after taking cognisance of the formal charge submitted by the prosecution. Earlier, on April 2, the tribunal's investigation agency submitted its probe report in the case, bringing three charges against the accused.
