
DHAKA, May 13, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 14,61,630 insolvent litigants have received legal assistance at government expense through the National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO).
The information was revealed in a report published on the website of the NLASO, detailing legal aid services provided from 2009 to April 2026.
According to the report, 30,567 beneficiaries received assistance through the Supreme Court Legal Aid Office, while 11,96,756 received services through 64 district legal aid offices across the country.
In addition, 30,102 beneficiaries were provided legal support through the Labour Legal Aid Cells in Dhaka and Chattogram, while 2,04,205 people received assistance through the national toll-free legal aid helpline call centre (16699).
The services are being provided at government expense under the Legal Aid Services Act to ensure legal assistance for financially insolvent and disadvantaged litigants.
The activities of the NLASO are being conducted under the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
