Legal aid cells provided assistance to workers in 4,640 cases

DHAKA, May 23, 2026 (BSS)- Legal aid has been provided in 4,640 cases at government expense through the Dhaka and Chittagong Workers' Legal Aid Cells under the National Legal Aid Organization (NLASO).

This information was disclosed in a report published on the official website of the organization.

The report mentioned detailed information on the legal aid provided by NLASO from 2009 to April 2026. It further said that legal aid has been provided to workers in 4,640 cases and out of those cases, 820 cases have been disposed.

Initiatives have been taken in 3,309 cases of workers for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Out of those, 1,920 cases have been settled. 

This legal aid service is provided at government expense under the 'Legal Aid Act' with the aim of providing legal aid to indigent and incompetent litigants in the country.
