DHAKA, June 2, 2025 (BSS) - Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed today 
proposed to allocate Taka 5,111 crore for the housing and public works sector 
in the financial year 2025-2026 (FY26) which is Taka 211 crore less than the 
allocation in the revised budget in FY 2024-2025. 

Of the proposed Taka 5,111 crore, Taka 2,079 crore has been allocated as 
revenue budget, while Taka 3,032 crore has been earmarked as the development 
budget. 

The finance adviser said this while presenting the proposed national budget 
for FY26 in a pre-recorded speech broadcast on Bangladesh Television (BTV) 
and Bangladesh Betar.

In the budget of FY 2024-25, the allocation was Taka 6,929 while it was Taka 
5,382 in revised budget of FY 25, Taka 1,547 crore less than the proposed 
budget.
