CA invites Chinese investment in Bangladesh

BEIJING, Mar 28, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today urged the Chinese investors to come up with their investment in Bangladesh to explore its immense business potential. 

"You can tape the advantage of business in Bangladesh," he told at an investment dialogue with Chinese Business Leaders at The Presidential, Beijing.

Prof. Yunus said, Bangladesh is the second largest RMG manufacturer after China. Bangladesh is located in an amazing location which is very potential for regional trade and business. 

Nepal and Bhutan are land locked countries as they have no sea. Same as to the seven-sisters-states of India, he said laying importance on establishing connectivity with those areas to boost up trade.

Highlighting the human resource potentialities of Bangladesh Prof Yunus said despite one of the most densely populated nation, Bangladesh has huge youthful manpower with full of energy, creativity and aspiration. 

He stressed the need for utilising the untapped potentials of the Bangladesh's young people saying, "There is no short of young people-both men and women," he said. 

About the Bangladesh's recent transformation, Prof Yunus said, Bangladesh has emerged as a completely New Bangladesh. Emerging youths would help running trade and business, he said.

Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun also spoke on the occasion.

Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain, Adviser for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Road Transport and Bridges, and Railways Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Chief Adviser’s High Representative Khalilur Rahman, Principal Coordinator on SDGs Affairs Lamiya Morshed and CA's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam were present.
