DHAKA, Aug 4, 2025 (BSS) - Home Adviser Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) today said there are no security threats ahead of the events marking the July Mass Uprising Day tomorrow.

The government is on high alert, the Adviser told reporters following a meeting on law and order at the Home Ministry in the Bangladesh Secretariat here.

He added there is no reason to panic.

"By the grace of Almighty Allah, all types of events and programs will be held peacefully with the cooperation of everyone," he said.

Jahangir Alam said that the government is alert about everything for which many meetings are being held and cooperation of all concerned is sought.

In response to a question about the government's special campaign, the Adviser said the ongoing special anti-criminal operation will continue until the national election.

"All efforts are being made to recover the looted weapons," he said.

Speaking about juvenile crimes, Jahangir said that the trend of juvenile crime is high in the capital's Mohammadpur area.

He, however, stressed social awareness to check the crimes.

In response to another question about mob violence, the Home Adviser said that mob violence has decreased from the past.

"It will gradually decrease to zero level. We are not giving any concession in the case of mob violence," he said.

Senior Secretary of the Home Ministry Nasimul Ghani, Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, among others, were present.

Notably, the Awami League government fell on August 5, 2024 in the face of public wrath after battling 36 day-long Anti-Discrimination Movement. Later, the interim government announced to observe August 5 as the July Mass Uprising Day.
