
DHAKA, Nov 6, 2025 (BSS) - A four-day winter book fair was commenced at the TSC Payra Chattar of Dhaka University (DU) here.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan inaugurated the fair as the chief guest. The event is organized by the university’s Dawah Circle.
Dr. Md. Sanaullah, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Islamic Studies of DU, Dr. Md. Abu Sayem, professor in World Religions and Culture at DU and Dr. Md. Kamrul Hasan, Professor in Tourism and Hospitality Management at DU attended the inaugural program.
Speaking on the occasion, DU VC said, “The primary mission of Dhaka University is the production and dissemination of knowledge for society."
Book fairs play a vital role in this process, he added.
“We will always support initiatives that promote knowledge across all communities,” he said.
After the inauguration, the VC visited various stalls.
The fair features author-reader interactions, discussion sessions, Quran recitation, quiz competitions and free distribution of saplings.
A total of 28 publishers have set up stalls. The fair will continue until November 9, open daily from 10 am to 9 pm.
