DHAKA, Nov 6, 2025 (BSS) –The Election Commission (EC) has instructed district election officers to prepare and submit a detailed list of polling centres equipped with CCTV cameras, ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections.

The directive was issued through an urgent notice signed by commission’s Senior Assistant Secretary Md. Nasir Uddin Chowdhury.

The EC has sought detailed information on educational institutions that do not have boundary walls, doors and windows are in dilapidated condition or need minor repairs.

According to the circular, the list of the polling centres should be sent to the election support-1 wing by November 12 through the concerned Regional Election Officers along with the necessary information in the prescribed form.

The list should be submitted both as hard copy and soft copy, following the prescribed form.

The letter mentioned that the list of polling centers was finalized in a meeting held on October 20 last. Information on the educational institutions under that list that have infrastructural problems should be sent according to the prescribed schedule.

In addition, the EC issued another directive on the same day, stating that a detailed list of polling centres -- where CCTV cameras have already been installed -- should be sent at the earliest possible time.

The EC stated that the use of CCTV cameras is crucial to ensuring transparency and preventing irregularities during the voting process in the upcoming election.

The commission is preparing to hold the upcoming national election in a free, fair and transparent manner.
