JHENAIDAH, Aug 30, 2025 (BSS) - Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman today issued stern warning against corrupted people, saying no corrupt individual will be allowed to thrive in the emerging Bangladesh.
"No corrupt person will be allowed to rise. We are determined to expose the faces behind corruption," he asserted.
His warning came while responding to questions from journalists following the inauguration of the regional office of the National University here in the district.
Describing Bangladesh as a nation caught in quicksand and standing at a pivotal crossroads, the attorney general said that Shaheed Abu Sayeed, Mugdho and Wasim sacrifices their lives in 2024 for the vision of a renewed country and that is why the corrupt individuals will not be given the opportunity to gain power.
The attack, he said, on Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur was not an isolated incident, but rather a part of a deep-rooted conspiracy.
Asaduzzaman termed the incident as "heinous, condemnable and criminal in nature." He further questioned that if the activities of Awami League can be banned for genocide, terrorism and fascism, then why not the Jatiya Party?
Jatiya Party, he said, betrayed the blood of the people of Bangladesh from 1982 to 1990. "The Jatiya Party played with the blood of the people and aided the Awami League's repressive actions during all its controversial elections and the July uprising. Therefore, the demand to ban the Jatiya Party is valid and I will examine the legal grounds to see what can be done in this regard".
The attorney general added that while he would not claim that law enforcement agencies are fully able to control mobs, but wherever such incidents occur, they are being brought under control promptly.
"The public's resentment that has been building up over the past 17 years is now manifesting in various forms. These incidents are unfortunate," he said.
Following the inauguration of the National University's regional office, a discussion meeting was held. National University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Amanullah, Deputy Commissioner of Jhenaidah Abdul Awal, Jhenaidah District BNP President Abdul Majid, District Jamaat Ameer Professor Ali Azam Mohammad Abu Bakar and Gono Odhikar Parishad President Sakhawat Hossain joined the meeting.
