BNP's Saiful begins election campaign by visiting Abu Sayeed's grave

RANGPUR, Nov 4, 2025 (BSS) - Rangpur District BNP convener and BNP party nominee for Rangpur-6 (Pirganj) constituency Md Saiful Islam started formal election campaign by visiting the grave of martyr Abu Sayeed in village Babanpur of Pirganj upazila today.
 
Saiful Islam visited the grave of martyr Abu Sayeed, who was killed in police firing while participating in the anti-discrimination students' movement on July 16, 2024, and exchanged greetings with his family members. 
 
Martyr Abu Sayeed's father Md Mokbul Hossain, younger brother Md Abu Hossain, other family members and their neighbours and villagers were present at that time.
 
At that time, BNP party nominee Saiful Islam, in his response to martyr Abu Sayeed, said that martyr Abu Sayeed dedicated his life to establishing a non-discriminatory and true democracy in the country.
 
"We will not forget his sacrifice. We are proud that Abu Sayeed is our brave son from Pirganj upazila of Rangpur," said. 
 
He also expressed optimism that BNP will form government in the next parliamentary elections with the support of the countrymen and will continue to work for the development of the country without discrimination.
 
Expressing gratitude to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and other top leaders for nominating him as a party candidate for Rangpur-6 parliamentary constituency, he said that the party has made the right assessment in the nomination. 
 
After visiting Abu Sayeed's grave, Saiful Islam held mass rallies in support of the 'Sheaf of Paddy' symbol at various places including Pirganj Upazila Sadar town. 
 
At that time, Pirganj Upazila BNP President Mahmudunnabi Palash, General Secretary Zakir Hossain and party leaders and workers were present.
