DHAKA, Dec 13, 2025 (BSS) - A distinctive programme titled “Protiki Badhyobhumi 1971” (Symbolic Killing Ground 1971) was staged at Shahbagh in the capital today to commemorate the martyred intellectuals of 1971.

Cultural organisation “Banglaparisar” organized the event this afternoon in front of the National Museum at Shahbagh.

The programme featured a group of theatre activists who participated with their hands and faces folded in black cloth, bearing marks of wounds and blood on their bodies.

At the very beginning of the programme, a symbolic killing ground was depicted with rows of piled-up corpses, accompanied by the background song “Ami Dam Diye Kinechi Bangla”.

Banglaparisar Secretary Dipanta Raihan conducted the programme as it ended with the song “Rajakar Al-Badr Kichui Robe Na Re”.

This programme vividly recalled the brutality of the Pakistani occupation forces and their collaborators during the Great Liberation War of 1971.
