Lt Gen Mushfiqur Rahman takes charge as PSO of Armed Forces Division

DHAKA, Feb 23, 2026 (BSS) - Lieutenant General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman today assumed charge as the Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division (AFD) as Prime Minister Tarique Rahman adorned him with the Lieutenant General rank badge. 

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan were present on the occasion at AFD, an ISPR press release said.

Lt Gen Mir Mushfiqur Rahman was commissioned into the Corps of Infantry in the Bangladesh Army on June 21, 1991. He served in various important capacities in the army, including GOC of 24 Division, Military Secretary and Director General at Directorate General Defense Purchase (DGDP).
