DHAKA, April 01, 2026 (BSS)- Iran has granted permission for six Bangladesh-flagged ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz to pass.

Iran’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi disclosed the development at a press conference at the Iranian Embassy here today.

“We informed Tehran about the six ships. Iran’s National Security Council has approved assistance for these vessels. However, we could not identify them earlier due to the lack of detailed specifications,” he said.

The ambassador added that Iran had requested the Bangladesh government to provide detailed specifications of the ships, which were received last week.

He said that work on the matter is going on and there is no problem regarding the movement of Bangladeshi ships.

“We will extend full cooperation in this regard,” he added.
