DHAKA, June 16, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj today stressed the need for curriculum modernisation, quality improvement of teachers, climate-resilient infrastructures and technology integration in the country's education sector.

He said the incumbent government has set a clear and long-term vision for the country's education system within just four months of assuming office.

The focus of this vision is to create world-class citizens, develop skilled human resources and make education job-oriented and technology-based, he said.

Bobby Hajjaj made the remarks while speaking at the Cambridge Press and Assessment Bangladesh Limited, Launch Event 2026, organised by Cambridge International Education, at Radisson Blu Hotel in Dhaka.

He said currently there are more than 27 types of education streams in the country.

A common minimum standard must be ensured for students of these streams, so that students of madrasas, Bangla medium, English medium or government primary schools get equal opportunities in basic knowledge and skills, he said.

Highlighting the importance of teachers, Bobby Hajjaj said just as a car cannot run without wheels, the education system cannot run without teachers.

He said talks are underway to use Cambridge's teacher training programme and other international experiences to ensure world-class training for a large number of teachers in the country.

Officials from the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, British High Commission in Dhaka, and Cambridge University were present.
